We’re an independent, established salon on Bath Road in Cheltenham, with a fantastic community of clients and a team who genuinely enjoy working together. Sustainability is a big part of who we are too; we’re proud to work with Davines and are always looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact. Most importantly, we’re not looking for people simply to fill chairs. We’re looking for talented, ambitious hairdressers who want to build rewarding, long-term careers.

Stylist - Building Your Career

Maybe you’re newly qualified, or you’ve been working on the salon floor for a year or two. You know you can do good hair, but your column isn’t where you want it to be yet, and you’re stuck in that frustrating gap between “I’ve qualified” and “I’ve built a career.”

We’d like to help you bridge it.

About the Role

If you join Ella as a developing stylist, we’ll actively help you build.

That means ongoing education and mentoring to develop your cutting, colouring and consultation skills. Plus:

Helping you discover the kind of hairdresser you actually want to become.
Creating content and marketing that gets you seen.
Putting salon marketing behind generating new clients.
Looking at your column with you and helping you understand how to grow it.
A clear path forward as your skills, demand and income grow.

You don’t need to arrive with a full client list.

Senior Stylist

Love doing hair but not keen on running a business?

If you’re an experienced hairdresser who loves the freedom of managing your own time but could happily live without the admin that comes with self-employment, this could be for you.

Finding clients, marketing yourself, ordering stock, managing cancellations, sorting accounts, putting money aside for tax and answering messages on your day off — running your own business can quickly become a second job.

At Ella, there’s another way.

Flexibility without Going Self-Employed

We don’t believe a successful hairdressing career has to mean working five days a week. Whether you have family commitments, want more time for yourself or simply want a better balance, we’re happy to talk about a working pattern that genuinely suits you.

We’re open to both full-time and flexible part-time arrangements for the right person.

✨ You can earn proper money as an employed stylist.

You’ll receive a guaranteed hourly rate alongside a clear, uncapped commission structure. The stronger your column performs, the more you can earn — and we’ll happily talk openly about the numbers before you make any decisions.
